Verizon launches 5G Ultra Wideband service in parts of Philadelphia
Verizon has reportedly launched its 5G Ultra Wideband service in some regions of Philadelphia, marking a huge leap ahead in the era of technology-led innovation and disruption. The telco’s 5G Ultra Wideband service is witnessing doubled download speeds reaching up to four Gbps in some areas owing to the advantage of carrier aggregation.
The company is also rolling out its 5G Nationwide service for more than 200 million people spread across 1800 cities around the country comprising the residents of Pennsylvania.
According to Kyle Melady, the Chief Technology Officer at Verizon, the company has been pioneering the 5G revolution, thereby propelling the technology that will develop a transformational experience for subscribers. He has further stated that the company’s objective with this game-changing technology lies in reshaping the world around. The company has advanced another step ahead along on that journey with these recent launches, added Melady.
The Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband brags numerous times faster speeds as compared to 4G, state sources. With evolutions in technology, the service is expected to have the capacity of handling data volumes that are 100 times larger than the present day 4G service. Clients in Philadelphia can take advantage of these new immersive clientele experiences in addition to ultra-fast wireless speeds that were never before available in a wireless manner.
According to Mayor Jim Kenney, Philadelphia is thrilled to be called as the first Verizon 5G city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has further stated that given the present pandemic environment, this technology investment in has the potential for advancing education-based initiatives that allow distance learning and also promote economic development opportunities for visitors, businesses, and entrepreneurs. The company is especially thrilled about the role 5G technology can play in terms of advancing innovation and eagerly looks ahead to a consistent collaboration with Verizon, added Kenney.
